SIA Recreation Center

Increasing how much you move each day, even just a little, can have major health benefits. In fact, it can improve the way you feel and help reduce your risk of many chronic conditions. No matter your experience level, the SIA Recreation Center is here to help you reach your physical activity goals.

At the SIA Recreation Center, you have access to personalized training plans, group exercise classes with qualified fitness professionals, recreation activities, and monthly programs. You can even schedule fitness consultations, program design, personal training, and equipment orientation appointments with our team. The SIA Recreation Center is available for all SIA associates, spouses, dependents aged 18 or older, retirees and select vendors.

Monday: 4 a.m. – 9 p.m, 11:30 p.m. – 12 a.m.

Tuesday: 12 a.m. – 9 p.m., 11:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Wednesday: 12 a.m. – 9 p.m., 11:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Thursday: 12 a.m. – 9 p.m., 11:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Friday: 12 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Spring/Summer)

James J. Bryant, ISSA-CPT/S&C – Fitness Center Manager

Philosophy of care: Since joining the SIA Recreation Center team in 2018, James has used his expertise in corrective movement and functional fitness to support SIA members in their health journey. He is proud of the impact that he and his team are able to provide, free of cost, to so many.

Personal interests: Outside of his work, James enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing basketball, and rooting for the Indiana Pacers. 

Fun fact: James is among the few people in Collegiate Track and Field history to score in the 100m Dash and 800m race at a Conference Meet.

Joey Mullins – Senior Fitness Specialist

Philosophy of care: Joey joined the SIA Recreation Center team in 2022. He enjoys working here because of the fitness team’s passion for providing a welcoming environment where members can feel comfortable, confident, and empowered to achieve their goals.

 

He always strives to provide an experience that lets his clients know that their goals, heard, understood, and able to be accomplished. He also likes to add humor, because we all know laughing works the abs!

Personal interests: When not at the SIA Recreation Center, Joey enjoys spending time with loved ones, creating social media content, watching anime/movies, reading, and being outside (when it’s sunny)!

Fun fact: Joey’s favorite restaurant is Chipotle! 

Michael Ooms – Fitness Specialist

Philosophy of care: Michael is dedicated to helping newcomers to fitness feel comfortable and confident in themselves. He has a unique ability to connect with individuals who are uncertain about what to do in the gym. Michael specializes in teaching the fundamentals of exercise and coaching those who are new to working out. Michael strives to treat each member as an individual and believes that each person brings their own set of strengths and challenges, and it is important to be conscious of that. 

Michael enjoys working at the SIA Recreation Center because of the atmosphere the team has worked together to create – one with the central goal of improving the lives and health of every individual who walks in the doors.

Personal interests: Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, riding his bike, and enjoying nature when the weather is nice.

Fun fact: Michael is the youngest of 4 brothers in his family!

Nehemiah Wyant, ACE-CPT – Fitness Specialist

Philosophy of care: Nehemiah joined the SIA Recreation Center team in 2024. He loves that the fitness center is integrated into the SIA community and is passionate about working with people to prioritize their health and fitness in an accessible way.

 

Nehemiah employs his experience in powerlifting, body building, and youth sports performance to his role as a fitness specialist at the SIA Recreation Center.

Personal interests: In his spare time, Nehemiah enjoys competing in the sport of powerlifting and diving into creative pursuits like writing.

Fun fact: He once had a summer job during college that involved lighting stunt performers on fire (safely!).

Doryn Wolf – Fitness Trainer

Philosophy of care: Doryn has been a Fitness Trainer at the SIA Recreation Center since 2022. Doryn has always been passionate about health and fitness, and he enjoys helping others navigate and grow in their own fitness journey.

Personal interests: Doryn enjoys spending time with his 5 children and is involved with their youth sports leagues. He also enjoys participating in basketball and baseball tournaments.

Fun fact: He helped create a youth recreation league at a local correctional facility.
