Abrar Husain MD, MBA – Medical Director

Dr. Husain brings over a decade of experience in providing comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families. Board-certified since 2011, his journey in medicine began at Ross University School of Medicine, followed by a residency at Rush University where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Husain’s career path has taken him through diverse medical settings, starting with a thriving inpatient and outpatient family practice, complemented by a specialized weight loss clinic. Transitioning into value-based medicine, he focused on serving high-risk geriatric patients at JenCare, where he honed his skills as a compassionate caregiver.

With a commitment to improving healthcare outcomes, he progressed to leadership roles, serving as Medical Director for post-acute and transitional care. Subsequently, he assumed the role of Regional Medical Director at AltaMed PACE before joining Wellbe Senior Medical as a Community Medical Director. Prior to joining Premise Health, he held the position of Regional Medical Director at Devoted Medical, where he continued to advocate for patient-centered care and predictive analytics in medicine.

Patient Care Philosophy:

My care philosophy centers on creating an atmosphere of healing through active listening and collaborative problem-solving. I find immense fulfillment in joining patients on their healthcare journey, striving to enhance both the quality and quantity of life. Just like a coach strategizes, motivates, and guides their team to victory, I aim to provide patients with the tools, information, and support they need to make informed decisions and take charge of their health. Together, we embark on a collaborative journey where patients are not just passive recipients of care, but the active leader in achieving their health care goals. My role is to offer guidance, encouragement, and expertise whenever needed, empowering patients to lead the charge towards optimal health and well-being.

How I stay well:

Outside of medicine, I prioritize personal wellness by staying active through weekly basketball and tennis games. I also find joy in unwinding with movies, indulging in audiobooks, and cherishing moments with my family.
